How to play Cribbage
Deal six cards each. Choose two to set aside; all four set-aside cards make the dealer’s crib. The dealer alternates each hand.
During pegging, alternate playing a card without taking the count over 31. Make 15 or 31 for 2 points; pairs score 2, three alike 6, four alike 12. A consecutive run of at least three ranks scores its length, even if played out of order. When nobody can play, the last player earns 1 for “go” (unless 31 scored 2) and the count resets. The final card also earns 1.
After all cards are played, count the non-dealer’s hand, the dealer’s hand, then the crib, each with the starter. Each combination summing to 15 scores 2, each pair 2, each run its length. A four-card hand flush scores 4, or 5 with the starter; a crib flush needs all five cards. A jack matching the starter’s suit scores 1 for “nobs.” Cutting a jack gives the dealer 2. First to the target wins immediately.
Scoring and go are automatic. Hints use only information your opponent could know about its own hand. Undo returns to your previous decision; it is available only during this visit. Match progress saves in this browser. No wagers, accounts or network play.
